LIFE UPDATE: MAY 2021

Hiyaaa everyone! How are you doing?? Happy May, goodness, how time flies! It’s been a while since my last blog post and I have sooooo much to share with you all 🙂 I mentioned in this blog post how I was starting my final semester of college…and boy was it a tough one! After my first week, I was so stressed out of my mind… 6 classes, 18 credit hours, will do that to anyone…so I decided somethings had to be put on pause to keep my head on straight. Thankfully, I managed to pass all my classes with amazing grades and am now back with tons of exciting plans for my blog!! I can’t thank all of you who have stuck with me for the last five months, it’s been a wild time and I’m excited to catch y’all up to speed.

At the end of April, I graduated with my class of 2021 and was lucky enough to have and attend our commencement ceremony. It was so exciting to reunite with classmates after transitioning to online classes due to the pandemic in the middle of my college career. It was such a fun day and a memory I will cherish for a lifetime. Since our commencement ceremony was announced so last minute, I didn’t have the time to hunt down a new dress (totally blaming having finals on this one haha), but thankfully a perk of being a fashion influencer is being able to constantly shop my own closet (LOL)! I pulled out one of my favorite white dresses with a pair of simple cork heeled sandals for the occasion.

Graduation weekend was a blur! It went by so quickly and was so busy seeing old friends, celebrating with family and buying a Nintendo Switch with my boyfriend John. John and I decided to buy a switch together as our graduation present to one another…we also have been eye-ing it for the last few months…let’s just say totally worth the splurge! Ya girl is totally addicted to Animal Crossings- it’s sooo much fun! Side-note: I’m just so happy we bought it after graduating since any homework would have never gotten done haha!

I am so excited for this next chapter of my life (especially since I don’t have any more homework to do) and that I get to follow my passion. I have known for awhile that after my graduation I am able to do “KellyPrepster” full-time as my job! Ahhhhh!!! It still doesn’t seem real but hard work pays off, and a huge thank you to all all of YOU who support me!

As much as I have shared about my college experience, I haven’t. I wanted to keep a lot of it more private due to my safety and own privacy, but I do want to share a little more with you all since the time feels right! Over on my Instagram, I hosted a Q&A (or watch this video) to answer any questions you might have with what I’ve been up to and I’m excited tot share!

Q: What school did you attend and what was your major?

A: I went to the University of Cincinnati and majored in Electronic Media.

Q: What is your next step in life? Work? University?

A: I am so grateful that I am able to work full time for myself as a social media Influencer and couldn’t be more excited! I will continue sharing blog posts, youtube videos and posting to Instagram! I am not continuing my education further, but never say never! 🙂

Q: Did you join a sorority while In college?

A: I didn’t, just wasn’t for me.

Q: What’s your dream profession/career?

A: I’ve always wanted to own my own business and it’s so exciting watching it all happen! I find social media marketing so interesting and love that I get to do it as my job.

Q: Will you be expanding your small business on Etsy?

A: YES!! I have been working on some new products recently and can’t wait to share once they are LIVE 🙂

BACK TO SCHOOL

OUTFIT DETAILS: SHIRT | JEANS | SOCKS | SHOES | SCRUNCHIE

Hey hey hey! Oh my gosh, I can’t believe winter break is officially over and classes have started back up. I wanted to share a funny first day of school reality update with all of you! I’ve always dressed up on my first day of classes and entering my last semester of collage, I expected no less…but six online classes said otherwise (hahahaha :,-))! This is my first (and thankfully last) time taking 6 classes, 18 credit hours, and on the first day, I felt so overwhelmed I just wanted to stay extra comfortable (aka no makeup & an oversized hoodie).

What I was hoping to wear, was one of my favorite pink and yellow striped tops from J.Crew. I always love dressing up on the first day of class. I love shirts like this that are comfortable since; I’m a big believer if you wear something you are comfortable in, more likely you are going to feel confident in it. Of course, my Sperry Penny Loafers just scream back to school and are perfect for the occasion. I know with my upcoming Zoom class meetings I’ll be wearing more cute back to school outfits, so stay tuned!

CURRENTLY READING (JAN 2021)

OUTFIT DETAILS: TURTLENECK | SKIRT | WATCH | BRACELETS | NAILS

Hello! One of my goals for the new year is to read at least one book every month. I have always LOVED reading…I just don’t always make time for it. I decided it was time to make it a priority and recently started including it into my morning routine…talk about a game changer! I am currently reading two books (please tell me I’m not the only one who reads multiple books at the same time?!). I like reading two books because I’ll read one non-fiction and one fiction book…so I get the best of both worlds.

The non-fiction book I am currently reading is called “Influencer” by Brittany Hennessy. “Influencer” creates an interesting topic of the ins and outs of being (& becoming) a social media influencer. While my fiction book is called “Summer And The City” by Candace Bushnell. Ahhh I LOVE Candance Bushnell’s books, she is the author of Sex And The City….the book I am reading is part of her prequel series! I would love to hear about your favorite books or if you have any recommendations.

BACK TO SCHOOL WITH VERA BRADLEY

Hey everyone! I can’t believe it’s already back to school season…this Summer flew by! One of my favorite things about a new school year is a fun backpack and this pink one is SOOOO me. I had to be sure to include my Day Designer planner since that is how I stay organized during the semester.

Even with having online classes, I have been loving this backpack from Vera Bradley. Vera Bradley has the cutest prints and my tumbler from them is one of my new favorites! I have also been wearing these sneakers like crazy! I personally think sneakers are the perfect Summer to Fall transitional piece. This Navy Superga sneakers are a preppy classic and I can’t wait to keep styling them.
