WINTER WEEKEND GETAWAY 2021

Eeekksss, hello hello!!! I am so happy and excited to be back, gosh life gets crazy…I had the best weekend on our Winter weekend getaway that I couldn’t NOT share it!! 🙂 I mentioned in a video called my “Winter Bucket List” that I wanted to go on a Winter Weekend getaway. My boyfriend, John, booked and planned the whole trip (awww how sweet!!) it was so much fun and I can’t wait to share the detss!

On Friday night, after John was done working, we headed to Indianapolis Indiana, a short (but very fun) road trip. We listened to our favorite Road Trip Playlist on Spotify and chatted about all the fun Holiday plans we have ahead of us. Once we checked in to our hotel, I got dressed for dinner and we went to our FAVORITE restaurant, Nada. We ordered lots of yummy tacos, they are smaller street style Tacos, perfect for sharing. Along with chips and dip- sooo delicious. Nada is such a romantic and chill atmosphere, we always like to visit when we’re in Indy (Check out this VLOG).

Saturday we went out for Bruch and enjoyed pancakes, French toast, bacon and eggs (we’re such foodies:))! Then we decided to explore the city a little, even though it was FREEZING COLD haha! Since we didn’t have any plans for the afternoon we decided last minute to catch the matinee movie premiere of the new Spiderman….such a GOOD movie! Once the movie was over, it was dark outside aka perfect zoo light’s timing. John planned a zoo lights date on Saturday night that was so festive! Indianapolis Zoo has so many animals and the cutest Santa’s Village!

On Sunday we had to check out of our Hotel. John surprised me with tickets to see the new exhibit at Newfields Art Museum. Their new THE LUME Van Gogh exhibit was AWESOME and so exciting to see (sorry the art nerd in me is showing through haha)! We got lunch at Newfields before our ticket time. After exploring THE LUME we wondered around the art museum for a few hours, my secret guilty pleasure, and the Lily House. Before starting our road trip back home we stopped for dinner and watched Sunday night football….ya girl is still #1 in Fantasy Football (don’t ask me how, it was all luck haha)!

To sum it up, we both had the BEST Winter Weekend getaway :)!! I will definitely be adding this to my bucket list for next Winter, too. It put me in the Holiday spirt and was a nice relaxing trip during the rush of the Holidays. With that being said, I am wishing you all a very Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!! I am so happy to be back on my blog and have a lot of fun NEW content to share with you, get ready!!

LIFE UPDATE: MAY 2021

Hiyaaa everyone! How are you doing?? Happy May, goodness, how time flies! It’s been a while since my last blog post and I have sooooo much to share with you all 🙂 I mentioned in this blog post how I was starting my final semester of college…and boy was it a tough one! After my first week, I was so stressed out of my mind… 6 classes, 18 credit hours, will do that to anyone…so I decided somethings had to be put on pause to keep my head on straight. Thankfully, I managed to pass all my classes with amazing grades and am now back with tons of exciting plans for my blog!! I can’t thank all of you who have stuck with me for the last five months, it’s been a wild time and I’m excited to catch y’all up to speed.

At the end of April, I graduated with my class of 2021 and was lucky enough to have and attend our commencement ceremony. It was so exciting to reunite with classmates after transitioning to online classes due to the pandemic in the middle of my college career. It was such a fun day and a memory I will cherish for a lifetime. Since our commencement ceremony was announced so last minute, I didn’t have the time to hunt down a new dress (totally blaming having finals on this one haha), but thankfully a perk of being a fashion influencer is being able to constantly shop my own closet (LOL)! I pulled out one of my favorite white dresses with a pair of simple cork heeled sandals for the occasion.

Graduation weekend was a blur! It went by so quickly and was so busy seeing old friends, celebrating with family and buying a Nintendo Switch with my boyfriend John. John and I decided to buy a switch together as our graduation present to one another…we also have been eye-ing it for the last few months…let’s just say totally worth the splurge! Ya girl is totally addicted to Animal Crossings- it’s sooo much fun! Side-note: I’m just so happy we bought it after graduating since any homework would have never gotten done haha!

I am so excited for this next chapter of my life (especially since I don’t have any more homework to do) and that I get to follow my passion. I have known for awhile that after my graduation I am able to do “KellyPrepster” full-time as my job! Ahhhhh!!! It still doesn’t seem real but hard work pays off, and a huge thank you to all all of YOU who support me!

As much as I have shared about my college experience, I haven’t. I wanted to keep a lot of it more private due to my safety and own privacy, but I do want to share a little more with you all since the time feels right! Over on my Instagram, I hosted a Q&A (or watch this video) to answer any questions you might have with what I’ve been up to and I’m excited tot share!

Q: What school did you attend and what was your major?

A: I went to the University of Cincinnati and majored in Electronic Media.

Q: What is your next step in life? Work? University?

A: I am so grateful that I am able to work full time for myself as a social media Influencer and couldn’t be more excited! I will continue sharing blog posts, youtube videos and posting to Instagram! I am not continuing my education further, but never say never! 🙂

Q: Did you join a sorority while In college?

A: I didn’t, just wasn’t for me.

Q: What’s your dream profession/career?

A: I’ve always wanted to own my own business and it’s so exciting watching it all happen! I find social media marketing so interesting and love that I get to do it as my job.

Q: Will you be expanding your small business on Etsy?

A: YES!! I have been working on some new products recently and can’t wait to share once they are LIVE 🙂

CURRENTLY READING (JAN 2021)

OUTFIT DETAILS: TURTLENECK | SKIRT | WATCH | BRACELETS | NAILS

Hello! One of my goals for the new year is to read at least one book every month. I have always LOVED reading…I just don’t always make time for it. I decided it was time to make it a priority and recently started including it into my morning routine…talk about a game changer! I am currently reading two books (please tell me I’m not the only one who reads multiple books at the same time?!). I like reading two books because I’ll read one non-fiction and one fiction book…so I get the best of both worlds.

The non-fiction book I am currently reading is called “Influencer” by Brittany Hennessy. “Influencer” creates an interesting topic of the ins and outs of being (& becoming) a social media influencer. While my fiction book is called “Summer And The City” by Candace Bushnell. Ahhh I LOVE Candance Bushnell’s books, she is the author of Sex And The City….the book I am reading is part of her prequel series! I would love to hear about your favorite books or if you have any recommendations.
